What is the minimum amount of divers required on any inshore diving operation?2024-09-17T11:52:07+01:00

We need a minimum team size of five divers for a safe surface-supply diving operation. This team includes:

  • Supervisor
  • Working diver
  • Stand-by diver
  • Tender for the working diver
  • Tender for the stand-by diver

We might have other team members on site to operate specialised equipment and to assist in an emergency.

How deep can you dive?2024-09-17T11:51:14+01:00

Our divers will go to a maximum depth of 50 metres (164 feet). This is in accordance with UK Diving at Work Regulations 1997 for air diving.

At what depth would we require a compression chamber for inshore diving2024-09-17T11:50:18+01:00

Some circumstances would require a two person, two compartment compression chamber to be on site ready for immediate use. This would be the case for dives with in-water stops that exceed 20 minutes.

Other scenarios would call for there to be a compression chamber within six hours of the dive site. This includes:

  • Dives shallower than 10m with in-water decompression that is less than 20 minutes.
  • Dives between 10m – 50m with in-water decompression that is less than 20 minutes, and a reduced risk of decompression illness (DCI). These risks factor in things like water temperature and number of dives.

Dives of up to 50m without in-water decompression have no requirement for a chamber, unless specified by the risk assessment or client.
